Nougat is the perfect treat to make around the holidays, and the recipe we’re about to share with you is so simple, you’ll definitely want to try it.
Although these little squares may look like the product of a professional baker, they only require four ingredients to make. This festive treat is something the whole family will love, and there’s a good chance it will become a holiday tradition for years to come!
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons of Butter
500 grams of Mini Marshmallows (about 2 bags)
450 grams of White Chocolate Chips (about 2 bags)
2 cups of Gumdrops
Instructions:
Begin by lining a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper. This ensures that your nougat mixture won’t stick and will be easy to remove once set.
In a large, microwave-safe bowl, combine the butter, mini marshmallows, and white chocolate chips. Heat the mixture in the microwave, using 30-second bursts, stirring between each burst, until the ingredients are fully melted and blended into a smooth consistency.
Once the mixture is smooth, quickly fold in the gumdrops, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
Pour the nougat mixture into your prepared pan, using a spatula to spread it out evenly.
Transfer the pan to the refrigerator and let it chill overnight, allowing the nougat to set firmly.
The following day, lift the set nougat out of the pan using the edges of the parchment paper and place it on a cutting board.
Using a sharp knife, cut the nougat into squares or bars, depending on your preference.
Storage Tip:
This nougat can be kept in the refrigerator for immediate consumption or stored in the freezer. If freezing, ensure the nougat squares are wrapped individually in plastic wrap or placed in an airtight container to prevent freezer burn and to maintain freshness.
Enjoy your delightful homemade nougat, perfect for a sweet treat or a festive gift!
