My mother-in-law taught me how to cook them.All of their recipes are meat sauces, so when I feel like the meatballs of the week, I find the labels and put them back in the slow cooker.This is not a quick dish, but a very simple one with a few ingredients and meatballs to make a variety of dishes if you cook a lot like me.

° 1 pound minced meat

° 1 large egg

° 1/3 c. Bread crumbs

° 1/4 c. Parmesan cheese

° 2 cloves minced garlic

° 1 tbsp. chopped parsley

° kosher salt

° Freshly ground black pepper

° 1 tbsp. olive oil

° 2 c. marinara sauce

° 4 rolls hoagie

° 12 slices provolone

* Directions :

Preheat oven 375 degres f .

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, eggs, bread crumbs, Parmesan, garlic, and parsley. Season with salt and pepper. Form to 12 equal sized-balls.

In skillet on heat, heat oil. Cooking meatballs to browned on all sides, for 4 minutes. Then add the marinara sauce and cover with a lid. Cook until meatballs are no longer pink, about another 8-10 minutes.

Hollow out the top of the hoagie to unfold it to make a boat. Place three strips of provolone on top of the roll to cover the hollow area and bake for 5 minutes until melted. Then place four meatballs on top of the cheese in a row. Place in the oven and bake for an additional 6-8 minutes. Grill if desired.

Top with additional Parmesan cheese and parsley if desired, and serve.
